The Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France takes place within Old Québec, centered around City Hall at Les Jardins and Place de l’Hôtel-de-Ville. There, we can wander through a recreated village where costumed interpreters bring history to life. It’s where we engage in interactive performances and workshops, visit the Capture your History exhibition, play ancient games, and discover fascinating stories that shaped the continent during this pivotal period of North American history. The Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France embraces contemporary forms of expression to share and teach about the history of our ancestors. You’ll also find other historical sites to discover throughout Old Québec City.

- Public Market Viandex / Le Frigo: A space the whole family can enjoy, featuring musical performances, Capture your History exhibition, historical reenactments, local artisans, and old-fashioned games — including the Méga Parc’s Hunt and Seek activity for children.
- Ancestors’ Place: Traditional performances, songs, myths and legends, and the ancestral knowledge of First Nations peoples.
- Giants’ Gathering - The Show: Watch 11 giants come to life before your eyes as they share their stories and reveal how they're connected (Admission: $ or free with the Medallion Case - no booking required).
- King’s Dinner presented by TD: Dine like one of His Majesty’s subjects with a festive New France–style meal. (Admission: $ – booking required.)
- Night of the Traitors: Dive into the intrigue and excitement of this interactive game inspired by the famous Werewolves. Can you unmask the traitors hiding among you? (Admission: $ – booking required.)

Tips to Make the Most of Your Experience

There is no dress code: Dressing up in 17th- and 18th-century costumes is entirely optional — but if you want to, feel free to join in the fun!
Learn a few French words: While most people there speak English, knowing a few key French phrases will go a long way in enhancing your interactions with the locals.
